iSpy is an innovative, hands on learning program taught in Year 5 and 6. In 2013 a group of teachers here at the College saw the opportunity to create a learning experience that stretched students beyond rote learning towards active learning through problem solving. When iSpy is running, a collaborative learning space is created incorporating the Year 5 and 6 classrooms and the Computer Lab. It is a joy to see students busily engaged in learning with lots of imaginative investigation, creativity, exploration and research happening concurrently. Through Inquiry Based Learning, students engage in generating and evaluating knowledge and have a better understanding of how to communicate ideas, and come up with creative solutions. Teachers have noticed a significant improvement in students creativity and research skills.
